At Virginia Tango, our school is more than a place to dance — it’s a home base where friendships are born, passion is shared, and the living heart of Argentine tango beats strong. Every embrace, every question, every break through, and every note played on the keys of the bandoneon keeps this deep tradition alive.

It has given us a way to compassionately communicate with others, a reprieve from the outside world, and a feeling of home wherever we land. Its capacity to delight and soothe is known throughout the world.
Now, we’re inviting you to become part of tango’s legacy.
We are launching the Key Members wall — a permanent, hand-crafted tribute to those who make our community possible.
With a contribution of $5,000, your name (or the name of someone you wish to honor) will be hand-painted in gold letters on a extra large ceramic bandoneon key, created by local artisans. Together, these keys will form a stunning three-dimensional mural — a symbol of gratitude and love for tango.

A handmade keychain, designed to mirror your key on the wall — a little piece of Virginia Tango you can carry wherever you go.
An invitation to an intimate Argentine asado at Anna & Cristian’s home — a heartfelt thank you among friends who share your love for tango.

growth of an active community of dancers.
Our vision reaches far into the future:
Opening the doors for others. Scholarships for dancers who would otherwise not have access to this community.
Hosting a world-class tango festival. Bringing artists, instructors, and DJs from Buenos Aires to Virginia, thus putting Richmond on the tango map.
Creating the very first tango museum in the United States. A collection of authentic relics that will tell tango’s story for generations to come.
Preserving our physical space. Having a studio is essential to the work we do.
Helping people find tango and providing a pathway for novices. No one is too old, too shy, or too stiff to benefit from tango. Spreading the word about tango is expensive!
